It all started around a table.

Not in an office. Not with a business plan. In Argentina, the best ideas are born sharing an asado with family and friends.

A company with roots in steel.

Mar del Plata, Argentina — 2009

The story of La Planchetta doesn't begin in 2009. It begins decades earlier, with a metalworking factory in Mar del Plata, Argentina. More than 35 years working with iron — understanding its resistance, its behaviour under heat, its properties.

With that foundation, and during shared lunches and dinners with family and friends, a simple question arose: why don't we make something we can cook with better?

It wasn't a product designed in a laboratory. It was a solution born in the kitchen, tested at the table, refined through use.

In 2009, La Planchetta came to market for the first time.

This is how a planchetta is made.

Hot-rolled iron plate arrives at 2.5mm thickness. It is cut, pressed and ground. No coatings, no chemical treatments. The iron leaves the factory as it is: a raw material that doesn't pretend to be anything else.

The walslaag — the natural non-stick layer — is not applied in the factory. You build it yourself, every time you light the fire.

Locos por La Planchetta.

It wasn't the brand that came up with this. It was the customers.

"Locos por La Planchetta" — literally: crazy about La Planchetta — is a Facebook group where more than 260,000 people from around the world share recipes, photos and experiences with their planchetta. They help each other, compare techniques, share results.

A community that grew on its own, because the product is worth it.

Now in Europe.

For fifteen years La Planchetta grew in Argentina. First in Mar del Plata, then across the country, then across the region.

In 2026 it arrives in Europe for the first time. The Netherlands is the first official distributor — the entry point for a continent that is increasingly returning to materials that have always worked.

No coating. No PFAS. Just iron.

Ready to cook with something that lasts a lifetime?

A planchetta that becomes yours with use. Darker, smoother, more non-stick. No longer the same as it left the factory — it's yours.
